I have lived in the community since 1999, and it has quickly gone downhill. When I first moved there, it was a nice community, fairly well maintained, and parking was never a problem. Now, there are six and eight people living in some two-bedroom apartment (in violation of local laws), people are frequently out in the common entrance area at all hours speaking loud enough to be heard in the livingroom and bedromm, you can never find any parking (people park in my reserved spot all the time, forcing me to park not just down the driveway or somewhere else in the complex, but out on the street). It has gottent so bat that at this point, several of my neighbors have indicated they are afraid (as am I) to report any violators for fear of reprisal.

Then there's the maintenance issue. The property is frequently a mess, and not just from resitent trash. Plus, their new maintenance request policy is that they will come within "twenty-four BUSINESS hours" (i.e. up to three days!) to fix any non-emergency problems. My toilet (only 1 bathroom in the unit) stopped working once, and they classified that as a "non-emergency".

Then there's the "resident manager", who acts as though she is the manager OF the residents, not the manager-in-residence. She will tape notices to the inside of the entry way window for everyone to see, but frequently will do so with only a day's notice at best. Plus, when the maintenance staff enters the apartment for their semi-annual check-ups, she allows them to leave without leaving any indication that they have come. So, we'll get a notice that says "beginning on xxx, we will be conducting our semi-annual inspections". The complex has several hundred units, and RESIDENTS HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHEN THEIR UNIT will be, or more importantly, HAS BEEN ENTERED.

Needless to say, I will be moving in the not too distant future.
