Not bad for a single guy

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007
I lived in the place from around 3/04 till 12/07. During that time I was a single guy in my twenties. I found the place to have a decent amount of space for the money. The area seems to be on the dividing line between some old money of Falls Church and a more urban area like 7 corners. I didn't see this as a terrible thing and never had any problems with the area. I had the bigger one bedroom apartment that was on the ground floor. It was spacious and had a walk in closet & enough room for a large couch in the living room. The place had a lot of light also, which I liked. The few problems were related to it being on the ground floor. It had a decent amount of spiders unless you made it a point to vacuum relatively often (I didn't). It also had the occasional cricket usually when it was getting colder. In the spring time if I left food out on the counters ants would be attracted to it. This happened around 3-4 times the entire time I was there. I used raid & put some traps out & it would keep them at bay. Parking is rough if you have a girlfriend or have someone coming over your place often since there is very few visitor spots with many of them being taken up by tenants I would imagine. The rental office workers were always courteous and very helpful. The maintenance staff was helpful and usually handled my problems within 2 days at the max (replaced a faucet, fixed the toilet, & fixed the dishwasher while I was there). My place was noisy initially with some children above me, but since they moved out it was very quiet. I'm guessing that's just luck of the draw but the walls I thought were relatively thick. It's only a couple miles away from the metro. If you are adventurous it's walkable in the summer. Overall, it's an old place with very affordable rent and some nice amenities like the up & down washer dryer in the units and a decent amount of space to live in. I lived there for 3 1/2 years and would make the same decision again.
