I have lived on and off at the Oakwood Falls Church since 1988. It's not the newest or most luxurious property but it is very, very quiet. The walls between the apartments are concrete block, which block out 99 percent of neighboring noise. The common areas of the property are well-kept and clean. Over the past ten years, more families have rented at Oakwood with children but the trend seems to have abated recently. Many of the residents are short-timers, staying less than six months. The shuttle service to the metro is reliable. The staff is young (younger than before) but the management is generally professional. The long-time general manager recently departed so there may be some changes. Utilities are pro-rated; water seems high but others are average. Overall, for the price and the location, it's a good value and worth investigating.
