Oakwood is better than most apartments. There really is very little to complain about here.

Pros:
Metro shuttle every 5-10 minutes
Extremely quiet (thick cement walls)
Plenty of parking, and then some
Newly renovated clubhouse/fitness center
Staff is friendly and responsive to problems
Apartments are slightly bigger than average
No roaches/spiders/rats, etc.

Cons:
No washer/dryer in unit
They have their own cable through comcast that is kinda crappy, although you can get satellite
Most people are only here short term (<1 year), so you don't really get to know your neighbors.
The fixtures are nothing special, but adequate


ONe thing to note is that a couple of the buildings are undergoing renovation. The ones already renovated are much nicer, but I believe they cost a bit more. Oakwood wouldn't qualify as luxury, but it is much better than average and is cheaper than most of the allegedly luxury apartments. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent apartment that will not give them too many headaches. The area (seven corners) can be a pain to drive in if you need to head towards Vienna, but it is manageable.

better than average? that's like saying a 3 inch ----- is huge.
