Not too shabby

I moved from Dallas and had some serious sticker shock when it came to rent. I was seriously depressed after my first two days of apartment hunting. There are some MUCH nicer apartments in Dallas for half the price. But I breathed a semi-sigh of relief when I saw this place. It wasn't perfect at the beginning--the first room I was going to move into wasn't cleaned really, but the second had brand new carpet and looked great. They did offer to replace the carpet in the first one, but I needed a place quick. Yes this apartment is semi-pricey (definitely more than what i wanted to pay), but from what I've seen around here, you get much more for your money. In the summer the pool is great and a lot of lounge chairs for hanging out. They have really nice bbq grills that they keep neat and tidy. There are quite a few kids and if you are on the inside where the pool and playground are, it can be a little noisy because it echos, but I like the family atmosphere. It definitely makes it feel safer. There is plenty of parking and they take care of the sidewalks and roads when it snows. There was a snowplow at 5am after a snow, but hey i'd rather it be clear than complain about it waking me up! There is a shuttle service during the week and on the weekends that takes you and picks you up from the metro station. And the metro station parking is free on the weekends, so thats great too.

There are events that they hold each month that you can participate in if you want to--Friday movie nights for adults and kids, chili nights, hot chocolate and cookies. Also bagels and donuts every Sunday morning.

In regard to maintenance--I had a really crappy showerhead when I moved in, they changed it out the next day with a really nice one. I also had an eye of the stove not working and that was fixed pretty quick.

There is a dry cleaning on site, but I think its much more expensive. I would go to Zips down the road to do dry cleaning.

As to stuff around the apartment--its pretty sparse. If you want decent restaurants, you have to drive down to Bailey's crossroads which can be bad in traffic. The area around it isn't too too bad safety wise, but I still drive 10 min to get to the next grocery store that feels safer to me--at night anyway.
