Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2006
 
Our apartment from the day we moved in had cockroaches. After two years they went away.
Now we have mice! And they stink. Our apartment has been stinking to high heavens for two days and they tell us to wait two more days. Even then I know nothing will happen. Violating health codes doesn't seem to bug them that much.
