Prospective tenants be forewarned.

Equity Residential (ER) Management claims that it is a professional management company and claims that it wants tenants to feel they are very satisfied living at Skyline Towers.

The third week in May 2009 ER Management sends all tenants a notice stating that ER Management made a billing error -- it Underbilled most residents for 5 Months! Furthermore, ER Management was adding the amount underbilled amount of money, for each month for the next five months (or however long the tenant had lived here - if the tenant had lived here less than five months), to each tenant account.

Why should tenants pay for ER Management's gross negligence and mistake''

Furthermore, ER Management refuses to have NWP (utlity billing company) put the additional amount that tenants owe on each month's bill.

Furthermore, ER Management refuses to put the additional charges on a tenant's bill which displays online at www.my.equityapartment.com.

So, it is easy for a tenant to forget to add on the extra charges each month. If one does, ER Management engages in a game of "gotcha." ER Management will charge the tenant who does not pay the correct rent on time a certain percent of the monthly rent (exact amount depends on lease). Recently, it is 15%.

ER Management will do Anything to make most tenants' lives miserable.
ER Management discriminates against some tenants by making their lives more difficult than others. For example, why is it that some apartments can have barbecue grills on their balconies and where tenants actually fire them up' ER Management does nothing. Why is it that many balconies contain adult and children's bikes, yet ER Management does nothing (lease states it is a violation). Why is it that illegal immigrants live here' Why doesn't ER Management check for citizenship status' Why is it illegal per the lease to solicit (junk flyers in the hallway and under apartment doors), yet management does NOTHING to prevent or stop the solicitations (in my experience the solicitors do not live in the building)' Why is it that ER Management doesn't pester tenants whose rents are paid by embassies and the like'

ER Management clandestinely removed the picnic tables and grills. The rats are still here.

Have you ever asked yourself about the psychological profile of an individual who would work in the apartment management/leasing/business field' Vindictive enforcers, who like to feel powerful and push other people down. The Criminal Minds team would macerate these people.

I have been a tenant for the past year and I can't believe what I'm seeing. There is a huge Rat problem in the building and it will take years to get that cleaned out. Beware of the tour because you will never see what we all go through on a day to day basis. Stop a tenant on an elevator and ask them if you don't believe what everyone on this blog is saying.

Thanks a lot for these useful information, and you're right, i spoke to all people you mentioned and they all got back to me and they don't seem happy about how things are going in the building. I urge everyone to file with these departments so we can all get the hell out.

okay I am an immigrant who grew up in this country, what does being an immigrant has to do with living here, what does having a citizenship has to do with living here. So that means if I am not a citizen I am beneath you and I am not worthy of renting an apartment?? You better check yourself before you make your little racist remarks.

You ask what does being an immigrant have to do with living at Skyline Towers - it is relevant if you are an illegal immigrant. If you are an illegal immigrant you are breaking US law by living in the US. I don't want my taxes to pay for services to illegal immigrants living in the US. When I travel (business or pleasure) to Laos, Indonesia, and Surinam, I do not receive free hospital care and my children cannot go to school free as illegal immigrants can in the US.

I have found these reviews very useful in determining whether I should even look at at 2 bdrm unit in this complex. I have found your responses honest and informative. I will not waste my time and money renting at Skyline, especially with a major rat/mice issue. This is not good for the overall health of the tenants. Thanks again.
