A Mess ... Don't Move in!

I moved out over two months ago. Yes, I am paying $300 more a month but I have 1 more bedroom, all utiliites are free, there is a fullsized washer and drier in the apartment, the place is clean and quiet, all doors are secured, and the swimming pool/pooltable-room/workout-room are monitored so criminals and outragious kids do not run the place or mess it up. It is only 1 block away from Skyline.
Skyline pulls people in with a false illusion of security and cleanness projected by the main entrance, then the rest of the place is a dangerious slum (Fights, Fires, Breakins, screaming, ...). I wish I could give it 0 or negative stars. It is criminal and they lock you into at least a year lease if not outratious monthly rent.
People should not post entries to this board until they have lived there for at least 6 months ... by then their rose colored glasses have been broken.
Staff and Security folks should be forced to live at skyline if they want to work there at skyline. Things might change then.
So glad to be out!

This place is so bad that people like myself are "running" to get out of this place now that our leases are expiring. So, far, management is getting so many "Notices to Vacate" that they're calling people and trying to convince them to stay. New tenants are even breaking their leases within a month of moving in. They label the property "luxury apartments". However, as the writer says, "Apartments do not get worse. TRASH DUMP NOT WORTH THE MONEY WE PAY!!!! It deserves 0 stars in almost every area!"

NOTICES TO VACATE FOR MAY TOP APRIL RECORD OF NOTICES TO VACATE.
Skyline's accountant said the increases in the utility bill is because the vacancies mean that the tenants still living here have to pick up more of the costs. This is not right. We're moving out.

Never move into this place. All of this above is correct, except for the blind person that never has seem mice and bugs. What the hell? They are all over the place. Be aware also - the management will try to scare you into paying extra rent and utilities, and even threaten eviction and suing. Take it from me, I live there over three years, always paid my rent on time (early, actually), and they tried to force me into paying an extra months rent, and crazy utility bills they claimed I was behind on from two years past. Now, they are trying to sue me. Cant wait till my day in court. But DO NOT move in this place - it will be the worse living experience of your lifetime. You would be better off moving into Southeast DC.

I agree with mbiggs0804. They tried the same thing with me. However, my lawyers advised me to ignore them. If they want to litigate the issue, they would lose. They're violating the Virginia law. mbiggs0804, list your email address. I'd gladly testify in court on your behalf. I hope they litigate the issue. Then their management practices would be public record.

Isn't that nice that you have the spare $300 to spend on a different apartment? For the money I've got, ST is just fine with me. I'm not saying ST's perfect, but it's the best for the buck around here if you don't want roommates.

If you look at what you will pay for utilities and laundry and car breakin issues it will probably be equal to 300 a month.
