I pay over 2k a month to live in these sh*tty apartments. I just signed my lease about 3 weeks ago and already want out. Within the past 21 days the elevators have been broken about 6 times. Rather than fixing the elevators the management simply put a letter in front of the elevators saying that all but one of the elevators were inoperable. They didn't put a timeline for repair or notify residents of cause and future plans to prevent it from happening again.
Worse then the elevators have been the rats in the ceiling of the basement. I workout in the gym in the basement and can hear rats crawling above me. Exterminators were called about 2 weeks ago, but somehow the rats have outsmarted these guys and they still exist. Now some of the rats have died and begun to rot leaving a HORRENDOUS smell in the hallway. You would think that Equity would get involved to prevent the Department of Health from fining them, but no. Instead the smell has gotten worse and worse. The smell is so bad I have to hold my breath while I wait for the elevator. Its starting to get hot outside and I can't even imagine how bad its going to get before the incompetent management chooses to do something.
The parking is a SHOW! There are a dozen visitor spots for over 900 apartments' I don't know who thought that would be a good idea. In order to park in one of these spots you must get a 3 hour permit. Guests also have the option of purchasing a $5 parking pass to park in the remaining spots. Behind the apartments is a huge field that could easily provide adequate parking, but in order to park in this unprotected, unlit, gravel lot that has no no parking signs and is easily accessed from king street guests must pay $5. I parked in this lot without knowing about the $5 parking permit and when I went down at 7 am to drive to work discovered that my car had been towed. That only cost $120 2 days after I moved in.
Another complaint I have is about the parking garage. Residents are given 1 parking pass and additional stickers must be purchased for $65 a month. The garage can only be accessed by key card, but that didnt prevent thieves from breaking in to 2 cars one night. Management responded to the situation by leaving the garage doors open for the week following. I don't understand the logic behind the decisions being made . The people are friendly, the location is ideal and the apartments are spacious, but I think I would rather live somewhere that the management actually cares about its residents. I will never refer anyone to live here. Hopefully you read this before signing your lease.

It is relevant to anyone that likes to live with people that share their same cultural values, eg. Christmas. Yes,it's D.C. suburb, so is bethesda, but they dont have a 26 floor building that is ninety percent minority residents. As far as the break ins, I have little doubt that they are done by some punks that live in the building. Also, let me repeat...the Anti American statement was made by a son of an Afghani inside an elevator. He was a resident. I've personally seen Cars with bumper stickers that read "I Support Al Quds". So, in conclusion, it is very imortant for most civilised people, to not want to live with the kind of barbarians that support Infidel Terrorist Organizations. This dump is suitable only for those of that ilk. God Bless America! P.S. It has been reported that an individual that resided there was taken away by Homeland Security, or F.B.I. . Apparently the fiend was conspiring with the Syrian Infidels.

It is ridiculous that people keep referring to the nationality of the people who live in the building as a reason not to live there (sorry, original reviewer - I don't mean you). This is Northern Virginia. It's next to DC. It's in the United States. This is an area where many different races, nationalities - whatever - all live together. There are many things wrong with Skyline Towers, but the fact that people who aren't white live there isn't one of them.
An to the original reviewer - 15 cars were broken into, not 2. Isn't that crazy? Mine was one of them.

Sorry to tell you this, but you should have read all the reviews on Skyline Towers before you moved in. It only gets worse.
Many of us lived there and moved out. Management will say anything to get you to sign the lease. You will find that nothing gets fixed. The situation only gets worse. The gang problem continues and management does nothing. As their bookkeeper told us, they are planning to sell the building and will rent to anyone to make the place look good for a prospective buyer.

I live here and I agree with most posters - apartments inside are great, spacious, etc, but the common areas, parking, etc leave much to be desired. However, with regard to those who think that race or nationality is an issue, I am a white female, and I have NO problem with the various nationalities. The racist poster who says he's seen "I support Al Queda" bumper stickers is just spouting b.s. I have never seen anything like that, nor heard any anti-white or anti-American statements or sentiments. Whether the racist posters on this site like it or not, federal law prohibits public buildings from discriminating on the basis of race or national origin - and that is the way it should be in America. Again, I am a female, white tenant who LIKES living with diverse people. Its just that the complex is not well taken care of, and the kids here (kids are kids, no matter what race) are numerous.

I moved in to Skyline in February and I absolutely despise the manangement. For the high rent they charge the place should be so much nicer than it is. I'm desperate to get out of my one year lease! Has anyone broken their lease with ST? How did you get out of it?
