The apartment barely passed by today's standards. Very old, walls patched several times, paint splotches everywhere. The kitchen had 20 year old appliances. Hot water is off and on, connected to several buildings. No central heating and air. Some kind of old fashion system where you have heat until the management decides you get air. Hope you like a nice hot shower....water would turn scalding hot to ice cold while you stood in the shower. Actually got 1st degree burns on my back! Then for this wonderful apartment (sarcastic description), after a year of trying to be a good tenant, never late on rent, done as asked, put up with alot of crap, they raise the rent $20, but couldn't fix the water or air problems. Needless to say, I put my notice in and left the place spotless. The manager said, "Wow, I've never seen an apartment so clean!" 6 weeks later I get only half my deposit back stating "light touch up/cleaning and carpet shampoo/pet treatment." So I get charged $100 for no good reason after they have already collected a non refundable pet deposit before I moved in.
