I moved to Kilburn Crossing apartments with the belief it was a home away from home. I ended up resigning a lease and lost my job soon after. They made it clear that no matter the circumstances I would be held to paying three months rent current months rent lose my security deposit for breaking the lease. This all added up to be approximately $3,300 for 3 months 1095 current month $600 security lose for leaving before lease was due. This added up to $5,000. Yes it cost me that much because I lost my job. They said the money for three month rent is the cost of losing a tenant and finding a new one. Well, a tenant is currently in the apartment and I have been gone less than three weeks. When you sign the lease it's in the bottom of the contract. Failure to pay these funds makes you liable for the rest of the year. I asked for a phone number to resolve the issue and was told a bogus number which goes to no one. They don't want to hear why you can't pay and I was told that even if a family member died they didn't care and they hold you to the lease. So unless you plan on losing a job, moving home or anything prior to your lease being up, be ready to pay them money you don't have. This is an awful place to live. Basically, lazy woman who work in the office who wouldn't live there if they had no plaxce to stay. They admitted this. If you can get a house but don't live here.

What a horrible experience you had! You read the lease? and the lease didn't mention anything about if you lost your job? Did you mention this possibility when you moved in? I don't see why anyone would have told you that they wouldn't live here, I think they get paid to rent apartments?

sounds to me like you are bitter because you couldnt get your way with the apartment people. I know, I went through the same thing. They dont make the rules though. They ar just doin there job. even though I had to pay to leave the girls were nice to me...I would recommend this place cause they are the biggest in the area and they arent ghetto.

I'm in this business, they LEGALLY CANNOT CHARGE DOUBLE RENT. IF SOMEONE MOVED IN WITHIN YOUR NOTICE YOU HAVE TO BE REFUNDED THE DIFFERENCE. YOU'RE RIGHT, YOU WON'T GET NUMBER TO CORPORATE BUT YOU WILL FIND IT ON-LINE.

I have been living here since the complex was built. I do not have any complaints. The place is reasonably well kept, is safe and I have not had any trouble with neighbors either. Most people seem to use this on their way to home ownership but others have been settled for more than a year. The pool hours could be longer but what the hell. Too bad about the lease. Actually there is a 3 month notice clause and yes, I know for certain that if someone else has moved in, you can claim your money back. Send them letters and they are obliged to refund you. If they don't there are always small claims courts. And the girls are just girls, what do you expect? A five star concierge service? The worst rip off is if they tow away your car. Mine did on the night I moved in and then a friend's who came to drop a kettle. They never paid me back.

Ok, The person from the office who wrote the response about not being able to charge double rent, YOU DID. ACTUALL I HAVE PROOF YOU DID BECAUSE WHEN I CALLED TO GET THE ELECTRIC TURNED OFF THEY SAID THE CURRENT TENANT ALREADY HAS PLACED THE BILL IN THEIR NAME A WEEK AFTER MY WIFE MOVED OUT. YOU ALSO GAVE ME A BOGUS NUMBER. SO DON'T TRY TO AXCT AS IF YOUR ANONYMOUS ANSWERING MY POST. GET IT STARIGHT AND STOP LYING. YOUR SCREWING PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY AND YOUR COMPLEX IS A HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE WORKING THERE. YOU REMEMBER US YOU WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO GET A BIGGER REFRIDGERATOR SO OUR THANKSGIVING TURKEY WAS OUTSIDE IN A COOLER. ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU GAVE US THE HANDICAP UNIT. EVERYTHING WAS AT WAIST LEVEL. STILL AHD THE NERVE TO TELL US TO BRING ALL OUR FOOD TO THE OFFICE INSTEAD, KNOWING NO ONE WOULD BE THERE IF WE DID UTILIZE THE FRIDGE THERE. DONT GET IT TWISTED YOUR COMPLEX AND PERSONNEL SUCK.
