I do not reccommend The Manor

I have had countless issues with The Manor. First of all, since arriving here, they have been through several managers. The current manager is ugly to her clients, unable to solve problems directly and truly difficult to deal with. You will call in work orders numerous times, there are snakes around the lake behind the pool that I was just advised are poisonous. Last winter when I advised management there was a large hole in the ground, it took me and neighbors filling the hole before it was safe for the children to go out and play in the snow. I don't recommend this complex to anyone who wants to rent in a quiet and peaceful environment!

I think your review is a little more personal. Snakes? Give me a break, you don't live in a bubble there is life outside. I have dealt with the manager numerous times as I to live by the pond. I have never had any issues with her being ugly to me and she has always solved my problems. Could it be that your ugly first and then since your upset you feel she is getting ugly back? I just don't understand your review and I think there maybe some undlined issues that you are having. I think the Manor is nice.

I tend to believe that the person has legitimate concerns. I have lived here four years plus, paid my rent on time without failure, minded my own business and attempted to be pleasant on the few occasions I've had to deal with the management. I can say unequivocably that past and current leasing staff has been by far the most unresponsive, ill equipped, inefficient leasing staff I have ever experienced. I have been a renter for many years but this is my first experience with such a mediocre leasing office. I happen to believe firmly that, since I pay a high rent and do so on time, I have every reasonable expectation that this apartment complex will be maintained on a consistent basis, which includes the trash compactor - for which I am charged monthly - air conditioning and heating systems and other very important maintenance issues that arise from time to time inside every apartment unit - if the tenant is observant and cares for his or her own little rental piece of the property. One can overlook the spider webs, leaves, etc. in the common areas but maintaining the buildings and equipment in the individual units and doing so expeditiously is an obligation of the owners via their employees. The rate at which the management company changes leasing office staff is absolutely not conducive to an effective facilities operation - try Business 101. My actual location in the complex is very quiet and unobtrusive -- that is about all I can offer positively. Had I known four years ago what I now know about the rapid leasing office turnover which guarantees a bad operation, I would not have moved here. In fact, the only reason I chose this complex initially is because it was one of the very few in this immediate geographical area that retains some non-tax credit units. Everyone needs to realize that there are problems which need to be addressed, whether you've personally experienced them or not. Just because some have been fortunate not to have been affected by the negative aspects of this particular apartment community does not negate the existence of same. C'est la vie.

While one has to understand that the outdoors is prone to wild animals that in our area may well be poisonous, the hole WAS there, was there for upwards of 3 years in various states of depth and danger. The hole was created by the undermining of the draininage lines by Hurricane Isabel... yes for those that aren't familiar with the storm it occurred in 2003 (I lived there). It took them 4 months to fill the initial cave in and then when the whole hill caved to a depth of 6ft over an area of 8ft x 20ft baring electrical wire conduit feeds and water pipes, it took a condemnation by county code officials to get it repaired. The Manager's assertion that "She had to have the pipe made" is complete garbage. She told my wife the same thing. Lead time on concrete drainage pipe is no more than 2wks assuming you have to have it made vs buy it off the inventory rack... In Massaponax where its made. Further I saw the 3 corrugated plastice drainage lines that they actually installed... and that IS available ON the SHELF tomorrow. "Had to have it made" doesn't account for the 6-8 months it took to make the repair . Nor does it forgive the hazard she exposed the children to. And for the record? 2 previous managers swore they reported it to the Corporate Office for capital repair authorization WITH digital photographs, and corporate officials were aware of the damage/hazard 12 months prior to the repair... And it still took County Code Official intervention.
