The Mark is located perfectly - close to all the good stuff without being surrounded by all the crappy stuff. For example, it's about 10 - 15 minutes from Central Park, which is too hectic to deal with most days. Luckily, it's also about 10 - 15 minutes from the Southpoint Parkway area. I-95, Rt-1, and Rt-3 are all just a few miles away. Yet the traffic in the immediate area is minimal. Safe enough to walk to the nearby Vinny's (which serves amazing pizza, btw) or the cute little ice cream joint next door.

As for the complex itself, some of the units are a bit older but quaint and well-maintained. There are also many newer buildings - also in great condition. It's got a nice pool with a gym and tanning bed, picnic areas, volley ball, plenty of parking (and no worrying about decals), and a dumpster that isn't right at the entrance of the community (like an eyesore). It's a very pet friendly community with quiet, polite residents. There are also several families with children of varying ages living in the community, so it's great for all kinds of tenants really. And the staff is very accommodating (for example, just today they stayed after hours to meet me after work so I could renew my lease). It's also a very safe neighborhood... I've even forgotten to lock my door every now and then (not that I recommend doing that) b/c it's just not something that worries me. It's just a nice place to live.
