My roomate and I go to UMW and rented an apartment in the older part of Snowden. We left after only one month of living there. Not only was our dishwasher broken from day 1 (and still hadn't been fixed by the time we left) but there was no lock on my bedroom window (considering we lived on the first floor I thought this was a big deal but the offcie did not as it took them over 2 weeks to fix it). Meanwhile, someone had been breaking into our apartment this whole time without our knowledge. We didn't piece this all together until the night my window was finally repaired and the man attempted to break into my room while I was sleeping. Since everything about these apartments is cheap, he was able to break in...we later learned that the man who broke in was a registered sex offender who had been living across from us. The office couldn't care less, and even after the policeman who handled our case talked to them and recommended that they let us out of our lease we had to use a lawyer to threaten to take them to court (so many things added up against them) before they would cancel our lease. HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE AND VERY UNSAFE...DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!
