What a difference in Somerset since I wrote my first review in August 2004. What happened since then' Things started going downhill when our original manager, Dee, left. The new people that have come in are rude at best and incompetent at worst. Every time THEY screw up they try and make it somehow YOUR fault... and if you don't fix the problem fast enough for them they threaten you with eviction. Just try calling THEM sometime, though... good luck getting a real person to answer! The maintenance guys are still good, though.
I live on the ground floor and have had things stolen off my patio four times this past summer. Every time I reported it, I was met with an "oh well, kids will be kids" attitude, like I should just shut up and deal with it. I used to put up holiday decorations and make the place look nice... I won't be making that mistake any more. Their latest trick' All our hanging plants, wind chimes, etc. are now "clutter" and are banned from the balconies... but ONLY if you live in an apartment that faces the front of the building. The people who face the BACK can put up whatever they want. And satellite dishes are still okay. (Which one looks better... a plant or a satellite dish')
There are now people running LOUD cars and motor scooters through the parking lot at all hours, and I'm constantly having to pick up stuff out of the grassy area between my patio and the sidewalk.
I used to love it out here... but now, if I could afford to move out, I would.

Look at your lease all this things you mention are a violation.

WHAT'S a violation? Wind chimes? I actually asked Winnie to SHOW ME where it says in the lease that they're a violation. Next thing I know, my apartment gets "inspected" five times in three weeks and she refuses to renew my lease. My lawyer tells me I'd have a really good case against Somerset IF I decided I wanted to stay. Forget it! I'm not staying around that place any longer than I have to.

i agree completely with bearguy they told us were slobs and crap and refused to renew our lease because we had to call the corporate office so many times on them.
