This place is falling apart- very sad!

I just read another review on about this place and I'm cracking up because I have had the exact same experience - acutally worse. This is clearly not a bunch of BS - I'm going to be totally honest here. The positives: I think this is one of the most beautiful complexes in the West End and I have truly enjoyed the tall beautiful trees surrounding the community. The staff have been very cool with me (especially Betsy and Katie) and the complex has been nice and quiet. The pool is nice and the parking situation is fine. My biggest problem is that this place is falling apart and they don't seem to care. I'm not typing all of this to "-----" but just to provide an honest reference. I'm not bitter, I actually laugh about it. I've had to report problems so many times that I feel uncomfortable. Sometimes they just come to the apartment, leave a pink slip report and write "not fixed" -and you don't see them again. I called maintenance when I first moved in to report that my bedroom windows don't open. I've lived here 10 months now and they still don't open. My shower has big cracks in the tiles which causes it to leak a large puddle of water 6 feet across the bathroom floor. No joke. They had previously "repaired" the tiles by pasting spackle over them but my shower still leaks. Apparently it leaked into the apartment below me and the resident was calling maintenance as well. They have still not fixed the shower. My living room ceiling leaks during rain storms. As I write this, I have a large garbage can, pots and pans in the corner of the room to catch the leak. Apparently they tried to "fix" that before I moved here as there is a large patch of spackle over the 3 foot crack. Too bad it still leaks. I called about this a week ago but no word from maintenance. My back door does not lock. Maintenance came and put up a security bar as my new lock 2 weeks after I reported it. My toilet runs constantly (I'm not even going to bother reporting that.) My washing machine is so loud that it sounds like a helicopter is landing. And I can always hear when my neighbors are doing laundry because theirs sound the same. They "fixed" this problem once, but no luck there either. My thermostat burned out 3 times in the winter and it got pretty darn cooooolllllddd. The lights in the stair wells are not replaced when they burn out. In fact, I sprained my ankle when I fell in a dark stair well because there was no light. The light outside my door is burned out right now but calling about it is futile. Electrical outlets in the kitchen don't work either and they refused to fix that but I suppose that's the least of the problems here. Apparently they think this is a great value as is - they just raised my rent. I really do think it's a sad situation. If I owned this beautiful place, I'd protect my investment by taking care of it. Good luck in your apartment search!
