Very nice place

I've lived here for a couple years, in a 2-bedroom upgraded townhome (granite counters, new cabinets, etc.) with a garage and W/D included. I've lived in at least a half-dozen apartments/townhomes in my life and this is by far the best. It's also the most expensive, but the rent really isn't all that bad: I pay a little over $1/sq ft for a place with nice amenities and a great location.

Pros:

Location - Great location if you're into suburban living. It's close to shopping, dining, and the interstates without being right next to any of them, so the traffic and noise are kept to a minimum (Short Pump Mall is 10 minutes away, smaller shopping center with shops & restaurants is 5 minutes away, I-295 & I-64 are 10 minutes away). Running/walking paths, dog-walking stations, golf courses nearby, there's an elementary school across the street, you get the idea.

Grounds - Well-kept. Crews periodically clear leaves, trim bushes, cut grass, etc. There are also dog-walking areas (with bag/basket stations), a tennis court, a pool, and a pretty decent fitness center.

Amenities - As far as my place goes the amenities are great. The kitchen area has black granite countertops, track lighting, modern appliances, and an open layout that was made for entertaining guests. I also like the included W/D, ceiling fans in every room, the balcony, and the wood-burning fireplace. The dining area is pretty small, though.

Staff - The people who work here have always been friendly and nice to me. The few times I've reported a maintenance problem someone has come out and promptly taken care of it.

Cons:

Noise - The walls are pretty thin. Luckily my neighbors aren't usually loud, but when they are I can hear it. I feel for the previous reviewer in the downstairs one-bedroom, that must have been miserable.

Trash disposal - There is a big trash compactor at one end of the complex where everyone has to empty their garbage. In theory this is a great idea: it's out of the way and hidden behind a brick wall so there are no smelly, unsightly dumpsters or trash barrels all over the place ruining everyone's day. In practice, it seems like every week or so the stupid thing either breaks down or gets choked with garbage so you have to either: (1) take your leaky, stinking bag of refuse back home until the compactor is fixed, or (2) leave your bag next to the compactor and hope that the manager doesn't get your address off an old pizza box and threaten to charge you 50 bucks for not disposing of your trash properly. Not that this ever happened to me of course.

Neither pro nor con:

Parking - For me, parking is no problem: I can park my car in the garage with space in front for a guest. Beyond that, the community spaces can get pretty full at times. If you throw a party your guests will probably have to hunt for a spot, although they will eventually find one. Not really good or bad, just normal apartment living.

Water/sewer/trash - Unlike many apartments, this place itemizes and charges separately for water usage and trash disposal, as opposed to including it in the rent. It's about $30/month for me.
