This apartment had CONSTANT flooding issues. First, the AC froze and leaked. Then, the sink busted... then the toilet leaked from the bottom. This happened all within about a month. Each time, the carpet sat soaking wet until the maint.crew felt like coming out and placing a fan in the apartment to dry it out.

When the toilet busted, I tried to call maint. but the maint. man had fallen asleep and didn't hear the page. So, the toilet water soaked into my carpet. Nice, huh' This was it for me and they let me out of my lease because I had consulted an attorney. I was told at that time that I would get my full security deposit back and because of the water damage, I would not be held liable for the carpet.

Moving on to today... I get a bill in the mail. They are charging me for replacing the carpet due to "pet damage." Really' I thought you were replacing it due to the extensive water damage caused by your inability to provide a functional place of habitation' The best part' The $300 pet fee I paid (which was non-refundable despite the fact that I had only lived in the apartment from April to June)wasn't for pet damage... it was for the "privelidge of having a pet." Per ------- ------- (she can be found in the leasing office with that other snotty nosed girl -----), despite the EXTENSIVE water damage (and the fact that it had soaked up toilet water for days), they had intended to use the carpet for at least another year but my pet had made that impossible.

Now, when you think about moving in here... think about walking around barefoot. Think about your baby or your pet crawling around... and know that it is very possible your carpet used to be a sponge for toilet water, ac water and busted sink water. Now, think about all the rent money you pay to live there... all the deposits you paid.... all the money you paid to get your utilities set up... and now think about how ridiculous it is for anyone to be treated this way.
