I have to admit, I have mixed emotions about this apartment complex. I like that it is very close to several restaurants, Target, three different grocery stores, gas stations and the mall (Virginia Center Commons). Not to mention only a few minutes away from my place of employment. I also enjoy the lay out of the apartment, and the large deck. The pool is nicely kept, and the grounds are maintained. With that being said, we have run into countless problems while living here. First and foremost, are the things that need to be fixed in, and out, of the apartment. While I understand that these are apartments that people have lived in for several years, and not everything can be new, I would also hope that management would at least try their best in keeping up with the repairs. Instead, several things that needed to be fixed when we moved in have yet to be repaired. When I do call into the front office for a repair, it can take up to 2 to 3 calls to get the lazy maintenance man to our apartment. He is not very friendly and does very shoddy repair work. For example, we called him out to fix our stove, and yet it still wobbles back and forth.
I have also had countless problems regarding payment. Either a check is lost, not processed, or mistakes are made and we're sent a letter notifying us that we still owe a certain amount of money when nothing additional is owed. I can understand a mistake once or twice, but it seems like I have to contact management every other month. Parking is also a MAJOR problem. If you come home past 9:00pm, you will never find a parking space close to your apartment, unless you live in the front of the complex. If you do choose to live here, please ask for an apartment closest to the Police Department and NOT near the elementary school. The school has an outside generator which whines extremely loud making it impossible to sleep with the windows open in the summer.
Please do understand that in all I do not mind living here. I do not expect everything to be perfect, but I do expect to have my problems handled in a proficient and timely manor. We will not be renewing our lease next year.
