I rented a small studio apartment at Oakbrook when I first moved into town.
It was small, but OK for its price.
Once I was settled, I decided to stay at Oakbrook and move to a larger place--1 bedroom.
I got screwed.
When I first moved in, there was a large leak in the roof, and clear evidence that they had made a crappy attempt to paint over it rather than fixing the leak.
Two or three calls to maintenance later, the leak was fixed.
By that time there was already mold growing, which caused some not-so-nice allergic reactions.
The landlord didn't really do anything to fix the problem, so I moved out when my lease was up.
A friend of mine lived there, and his place was in better shape than mine.
They're reluctant to fix large maintenance problems, but anything small isn't really a problem.
Didn't really notice the crime that the other review mentioned.
Most of the people there seem to be divorcees etc, so no trouble.
There are stray cats everywhere there.
One neighbor would actually leave food out to encourage them.
