I lived here in a 1 bedroom with a den on a 12 months lease. It is one of the decent communities in the West End area with some definite Pros and Cons. At the end of my lease, although I was considering renewal for a bit but I found a nicer place in the vicinity and moved. And I am HAPPY I did.
PROs:
1) Big spacious kitchen with lots of cabinets
2) An outside extra storage space
3) The Computer Nook is definitely a plus
4) I loved the wooded view from my apartment
CONs:
1) Poor heating/ cooling- the den and the bedroom had virtually zero temperature control. All through the winter I had to sleep in the living room, next to the fireplace, because the bedroom remained freezing cold.
2) The lease renewal charges can be insane- This definitely requires consideration if you think you might want to stay in one place and simply extend your lease.
3) I found the Property Manager: Janine quite rude, for most part. Although the Leasing Associates: Audrey, Gail and Cheryl were polite, professional and efficient.
4) The walk-in-closet in the bedroom is a joke. But they do have a wall closet in the bedroom to some what make up for the lack of closet space.
5) The sound and noise from the near by apartments can be very disturbing at times, I had to call cops twice to have my neighbor turn down their TV at 3 AM in the morning.
6) Although I was told that the carpet in my apartment was changed less than a year back but it was really rough and cheap. I ended up with painful feet if I walked around bare-feet. Another resident I spoke to had the same problem. The leasing office had no suggestions or solutions.
7) The grounds were filthy with geese poop during the summers.
