When mgmt changed this place went down hill

First, the apartments are small. You'll have a hard time arranging furniture in the smaller apartments. If you do not have a lot of furniture, you may be fine.
When the original managers were there this was THE place to live in Hampton. Since the management change over in early 2003 the staff, management, and overall customer service went down hill fast.
Our building had a problem with stray cats, our cat loving neighbor would feed the strays by dumping an entire bag of cat food on her patio and letting the strays feed The food soon became infested with bugs in the summer-time.
The cats then treated our front doors and breeze ways as their litter box. There were plenty of cat fights in the middle of the night and cat poop on your doorway in the morning.
Staff and mgmt did nothing to resolve the problem, (they would not tell the tenant to stop feeding the cats, or catch the strays) until I notified their corporate office. The fact that it even had to come to ME calling their corporate office in RICHMOND to get this problem resolved was astonishing.
Never the less, we took matters into our own hands and trapped the strays and took them to the pound. I even adopted one. But mgmt looked the other way when we would complain about the cat poop.
We moved out shortly after all of this.
As I said this was the place to live in Hampton, but since then has gone down hill fast. They are renting to shady people and I know a woman who had her tires stolen off of her car, her car was left sitting on cinderblocks. I had to get wheel locks for my car, since my car was identical to the one where the tires were stolen. Mgmt again looked the other way and simply said "we don't provide security"
Oh gee thanks. Meanwhile I can't sleep at night wondering if I'll have tires on my car in the AM.
Our neighbors told us our water heater leaked before we moved in and flooded her apt below. They also had a leak in their apartment from pipes in our and they had to ripe a huge hole in her celing to fix it.
If you want crappy mgmt, shady neighbors (not all but some), a possibility of your tires being stolen and water/pipe leaks...go ahead and rent. You're taking your chances.
