Started off wonderful...

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
...but its a nightmare now.
When we first moved in during the spring of 2004, we were very pleased with the atmosphere, etc. The neighbors were all very friendly, there was an unspoken agreement about parking in front of my building, the management seemed to be pretty nice. What more could you ask for' Well, for some reason, when winter was pretty much over this year, everything did a nose dive and went straight to hell. While there are now supposedly more empty apartments than last year, the parking situation is absolutely ridiculous. If you don't get home by 5:00, forget parking anywhere near your place. I don't understand how hard it would be to assign two slots per unit so that those with 8 people living with them would park elsewhere instead of taking up all the spots. Not only is parking getting out of hand, maintenance is as well. We have been having the same problem for over a month now and no one seems to care. All I can say is that we are probably only giving the people in the office another week or so until we start calling the Health Dept and Better Business Bureau. I'm not sure if that will help, but its worth a shot.
My safety has been questioned on two occasions lately as well. One night, while hanging out on my back porch, three really shady looking guys walked by who obviously didn't live there and creeped me out so bad that I had to get my husband out there (and I'm a lot tougher than that...it was a gut feeling, if you will). Then, a few weeks later, my husband goes out back at 1:00 AM and hears something on the other side of our patio table, looks over and there is some guy dressed in all black trying to hide between the table and the AC unit! My husband yelled at him and he took off running. Now, I have a hard time not being scared to even go downstairs in the morning. Would it cost so much to hire a security person to be there at night' I have also been hearing talk of the office allowing section 8 families to live there since they can't keep the apartments full anymore.
I don't know, I hate to bad talk them because I really did have only nice things to say about the place until this past winter, but something needs to be said and something needs to be done.
