My husband and I along with our 2 year old were set to move into a 2bedroom 2bath. They showed us a lovely clean and newly painted model...then we gave our deposit. When we went in the sign the lease my husband asked to see the apartment before we signed. We were told no, sign and we'll give you keys and if there is anything wrong we will fix it. BIG MISTAKE! When we opened up the door we couldn't believe our eyes! The floors were filthy, the walls were not painted and dirty, dead bugs everywhere, kitchen sink scratched and rusty, cabinet under the sink warped and water logged, dirty oven, refrigerator and bathrooms. But the biggest problem...3 OUT OF THE 4 WINDOWS DID NOT LOCK!!!! This is not a neighborhood for windows that don't lock. 1 was missing a lock all together, 1 had the bottom frame bent forward so it didn't meet the top frame to lock. Mold that looked like it had just been painted over but was seeping back out. The bathrooms had fixtures from the 70's, dusty, rusty and falling apart. I could go on and on....Thank God we got out of our lease because we were not allowed to see the apartment before we signed!...Ask to see the apartment before you sign anything and make sure the apartment is ready and worth your hard earned money.
