You know how you can have a good dream turn into a nightmare' That is my case with Northampton Villiage. Moved in Sept '06 under the RPP set-aside program This is my first Apartment. Just like others, my wife and I was shown this beautiful model townhouse. The first 7 months were ok. They would respond to maintenance orders promtly, even though they were not always fixed properly. Once we got our dog, everything went for the worst. We would've been better of not being allowed to have pets! First, after I signed the pet onto the pet lease which is poorly put together and explained(pet addendum does not match verbal explaination), I was constantly harrased about the dog. I would get a call saying that I didn't put the dog on the lease when I did. The managers would bother me about the dogs breed when they had vets records that clearly stated that it was a Border Collie. The manager said that the dog looked like a pitbull to her. One late night after comming home from work, I discovered a large hole in the rear door. I reported it to the emergency maintenance line the very next morning. Maintenance came out 2 days later. He glanced at the door, then saw that I had a dog. Without inspecing the hole, he determined that my dog(who was in the cage at the time of the incident) chewed a whole the this outside door. In reality, the door was a wooden, outdated, dry-rotted, and termite eaten, making it easy for a possible break-in or neighborhood kids to tamper with or damage he door and the front door was metal. Also there are a lot of break ins in the area and a lot of tenants with the same problem. The apartment managers came out almost 2 weeks later. The that my dog had some ripped paper in the cage with her. They told me that the believed that it was a destructive dog capable of chewing a whole through the outside door. The dog as never damaged anything other than paper. Basically, they charged me with the door replacement and it took them 3 months to finally replace the door. The replacement was metal on not wood like the original. So we had this huge hole in the door which let out A/C out and insects in for 3 months. In the contract it states instant repair on a whole in an outside door or window. Also, I believe with all of the other doors with the same problem, they didn't wan't to pay for them. I have another pending issue with Northampton, but I cannot disclose the information until it is resolved in court. I would NEVER recommend anyone to rent here. In my opinion, the other postings are accurate and I'm experiencing the same thing. Be on the lookout, not only for Northampton Village, but ANY apartment owned by Weinstein Properties. They all give you the same problems and it's a world of headaches. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!. Anytime they've had charges for me(legit and no legit) they take the money comming from my rpp allottment, making my rent balance not current. They just told me that a couple weeks agao. I've been wondering why I kept getting letters saying that I owe for base rent(part of what they are taking me to cour for). They are making my life a living hell. I am currently handling this while I'm on a 4 month deployment. The staff are VERY unprofessional. And in the neighborhood, there's always a shooting. I definitely would not reccommend this place for kids or anyone else. I've noticed with some of the other military members who leave their cars when they deploy for a few months, they come back to a vandalized car. One day, my wife and I witnessed some kids trying to set the laundry room on fire. I can go on and on about the negatives and there are very little or no positives about this place.

Don't feel bad. I'm still living in the complex. It's been ups and downs the whole way. The apartment has screws and vents painted over. I keep smelling mold really bad in the bathrooms every time it rains and the carpet is peeling from my stairs. I told them but they said that was a job for a carpenter and left it at that. It took me forever to get them to fix my garbage disposal when it started leaking and my sink hose broke so when you turned on the water it spewed from the house instead of coming out of the faucet. I wasn't able to do laundry for over a month. That's not counting my kitchen counter falling down so you had to lift it with one hand while trying to shut the dishwasher with the other, otherwise the dishwater couldn't close. The overall makeup of the apartment is retarded as well. They don't even have an above the stove cover in most of the apartments to prevent grease from settling on whatever is up there from getting coated in an oily coating. I try my best to steer anyone away from the complex that's looking into moving here. It really is a nasty little place underneath all the layers of paint.
