People that say "yes" to living here have lower standards. I'll tell you what it's like living here so you can decide for yourself based off of your standards of
living.
THESE ARE DESCRIPTIONS FROM THE APARTNENT THAT I LIVE IN.
(NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: Fix the ----in ACs in ALL of the apartments, not just some. On a hot day, my apartment is the same temperature inside as it is outside. That's a ----in shame and I am extremely pissed off! Your ACs are old and regady, REPLACE THEM! I'm sick and tired of this ----, and you all are going to ---- around and piss me off.
-When I moved in, there was food left under my stove. Maintance didn't clean it.
-When I moved in, there was ---- under the rim of my toilet. Maintence didn't clean that either or the disgusting people living there before.
-When I moved in, four dead roaches were spotted in my kitchen, plus a jumbo one under the stove. ------- disgusting.
-SLOW MAINTNENCE. Everything I put on the maintnence list upon moving in, nonthing has been taken care of yet and my least will be up soon.
-WALLS ARE THIN. A guy was talking outside and until I turned around, I thought he was inside my apartment.
-FLOORS ARE THIN. Sounds like you're stomping everytime you walk.
-AC DOESN'T GET COLD. It only gets cold at night. During the day, it doesn't cool off at all. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's cooler outside then in my apartment. It makes me ----in FURIOUS that I have to pay rent for this ----. These are problems that you should experience living in the projects.
-HEATER DOESN'T GET WARM. It heats up SOMETIMES. I was freezing in my apartment because the heater didn't get warm enough, I had to use the oven.
-ANTS. There was a trail of ants constantly coming into my kitchen through cracks from outside, no matter how clean it was. I bleached everything but my kitchen counter still looked like an ant farm. They're TEMPORARILY gone now because they sprayed, but it doesn't satisfy me, because they can still get into my apartment and they will be back every year, which is why I'm not renewing my least. Pesticide is a temporary solution to a permenant problem. Even if you can't fix the ants, you can damn sho fix the holes in the wall.
-ROACHES. It doesn't matter how clean you are. Jumbo roaches come from outside, through the cracks in my walls, and into my apartment. I see at least one a day on average. Gigantic steroid cockroaches that look like they've been working out at the gym to get that big, and they can fly too. I've sucked at least 50 roaches into my vacumn cleaner in the past month.
-APARTMENT CONDITION OLD.-Wood trimmings in my kitchen are falling off.
-Molding in kitchen and bathroom is dirty and has rusted
nails.
-In my bathroom, there's a dirty layer of tile under my
current tile, and another dirty layer under that. How
----in lazy can you be to not pull up the dirty tile before
putting down new tile?
-Closet doors don't stay on track. I have to move them
slowly when opening and closing or take them off.
-Shower water doesn't stay hot. It's gone completely cold
within a matter of 3-4 minutes at least 40% of the time.
My suggestion: Find newely built apartments so at least maintnance won't be that much of an issue.
Pros: The only good thing about living here is you get a washer and dryer in your apartment and the location. THE DISADVANTAGES GREATLY OUTWEIGH THE ADVANTAGES. Take my word foR it. I'm from Miami, Fl and Hampton, virginia sucks. The standars here are very low especially when these are considered one of the "nice" ones in hampton.

Are you in my building?
My A/C has been "poor" at best for the past 2 years. Maint. Constantly said there was nothing wrong with it. The outside condesner blew yesterday. There are literally burn marks on the ground and the back of the building.
The hotwater went out last Thursday. That finally got fixed yesterday.
My linolium has been peeling around the bathtubs since before I moved in. The carpets were not cleaned before I moved in.
Now the complex wants more money from me. WTF am I still here?

Trust me, I know the maintance is poor. I dont know whether they are playing 9 holes of golf or doing work, cause all they do is ride around on those Golf Carts. And if they arent doing that, they attributing your apartment problems to you or someone else. They should just be called the redirection office.

My roommate and I will be moving to Spinnaker Cove in a few weeks and I decided to check out what people are saying about the place. I guess I should have done my research before I gave them the security deposit and ridiculous pro-rated rent. Is there anything else we should be prepared for/ concerned about besides the A/C and bugs?

You guys are freakin hilariuos!!! So the people that ride around on the golf carts are just out wondering aimlessly I guess,Ever occured to you thats how they get from one apt to the next? I guess if they could just snap their fingers and make everything work like "you" expected life would be grand now wouldn't it? Question? Have you ever lived anywhere else? Why are you still living here? OMG! maybe you should find a "cheaper" apt, no no wait... maybe you should BUY A HOUSE and do you own maintenance. Wait.. no... thats not good either... b/c you prob can't afford a mortgage much less pay to have someone fix any of yur severe maint problems that happens to EVERYONE.... EVERYWHERE !!!!!!! even in your very own home. Ofcourse you may not know that b/c you may never own a home. B/c you rely on those people in golf carts. Kindness is contagious. Complaining people are just miserable and they hop on the computer to pass time and hope that in the mean time they will find a life. Or MAYBE they just need to MOVE !! I love my apt. I won't say that I have never had any issues but I moved in here b/c of the area and the square footage maybe you haven't shopped around lately to know how expensive apartment in Hampont really are. I don't waste time complaing on things that are out of my control much less anyone else's control. But Again, I guess it all goes back to the fact that misery loves company. I;m sorry to you folks that are so sad. I hope that eventually you will move somewhere that you will be the only person that they can try to make happy. I hope that you can find a place that will never have anything wrong with it ! though, Its highly impossible that is my wish for you all !

No, I did not get evicted. I'm still paying for an apartment with no AC. I'm sweating in my apartment and they don't care. There's a waiting list for people to get their AC fixed. I guess when you move in, you can add yourself to that list. I won't disclose when I moved in for obvious reasons.
Spinnaker Cove sucks ---!

I agree 100%. And to the poster who says we all are hilarious. I wish you were intelligent enough to separate standard apartment issues (which most people in any apartment or house encounters) from flat-out negligence. There's a DIFFERENCE. I've had issues here and there in different places I've stayed; however, Spinnaker Cove is unreasonable and you need to stop denying it. And how immature of you to stoop to insults "you prob can't afford a morgage". You can't even present a logical counter-argument to justify that these issues do not exist with Spinnaker Cove.
