I have lived hear almost a year and a half and now things aren't so rosie anymore!
I live in the back of complex and there is NOT ENOUGH LIGHTING! I just had my car broken into and vandalized. When the police officer arrived my husband commented on how quickly he came and he said he was a couple of buildings over dealing with another vandalism report! It's very stressful to think that this could happen here!
There are several building lights not working and lamp posts not working so it's very dark back here at night. I have emailed and given a type written note to management listing all the lights out in the complex and they all got fixed but the ones in the back were I live!!! I work nights and am frighten to walk to my building! Make sure you drive through here at dark and check it out before renting your apartment.

Well, since they do a large amount of maintenance and updating when they renovate (see the old style) it's not surprising that everything isn't just perfect. As for your water bill...you must be in a horrible building. I lived there for over a year, and although they don't have a perfect system, I never paid over $60 bucks for Ista (trash, water, and gas). You DO in fact use gas if you use hot water there b/c they are on a boiler system. As for the crime...well, you live in Hampton...'nuff said. Apartment complexes are always targets for crime because of the concentration of property. Plus it's fact that people in large apt. communities tend to not secure their valuables as well...don't know why. I didn't have a problem. If you lock your doors and windows (if on 1st flr), and don't leave valuables in plain sight in your car, you'll discourage thieves.
Believe me, I hear horror stories from alot of my friends who live in other communities...and many of them are indeed the result of the management/maintenance at their complex. Crime and wasteful neighbors are out of their control. I know for a fact that they pay a police officer to keep an eye out off duty, and there are routine on duty patrols through the complex. In case you're wondering...I have no affiliation w/ Township...I'm in the military and just recently moved to Yorktown for better schools.
