Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I've been living here since August and I have to say that its been great. A little background before I go further. I'm sure the staff will know who this is but who cares. I guess I lucked out because I stay on the top floor with the vaulted celings and happen to be the first tenant in the "renovated" apartments. This being my first apartment (did I mention I'm a college student) I have to say I was impressed. Staff is always courteous and grounds are kept very well. Before I moved here I read the reviews and was a bit nervous but due to my location I've experienced no problems. I literally stay in front of the rental office (I face the office also) so parking is ample and noise is non existant. Being that Township is next to the Addison I never knew of any crime. Onto the apartment which is where my concern starts. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being flawless) I would give my newly renovated apartment a 7. A 7 because of the fit and finish and the lack of detail of the finished product. It happens to be all cosmetic but still after spotting all these defects I was a little dissapointed. The details include scuffed paint, cheap wood used for cabinetry, thin paint (I was told only one coat was applied) and some other things I can't put my finger on. I do however like the fact that once pointed out to the staff they said they would correct it (the paint that is). I told them I would paint it myself (yet to do that, and I'm a perfectionist). With this renovated apartment there was new hardware (refigerator with ice maker, stove, washer/ ventless dryer combo, and dishwasher) which was nice to offset the details in crafstmenship. I would comment on the maintenance staff but since everything in my apartment is new nothing has broke (and I intend to keep it that way) On to the price. Yes it is expensive at $920 (you also on average $50 more for trash, water and what not). Some basically I would say your paying a grand (does not include electric and cable). Which still puts it cheaper than LakeRidge . If you need a cosigner which I do (I'm a college student, a quiet one at that) then this is your best option. The next would be Heritage of Settlers Landing and New Hampton Commons. If you don't need a cosigner your probably already living at Signature Place or next door at the Addison. I apologize for the long post but I hope I answered any potential leasers questions. Oh and the facilities are good too. I've never had to use the laundrymat on site but I did see the price and oh boy that price is steep. The gym is small but seems to get the job done (never seen anyone use it though). Before I conclude some things I've observed good and bad. A pipe burst at my unit was fixed rather quickly (didn't have water for about 8 hours). I hate pine needles (lol). No ghetto people with non stop blasting music (I'm from D.C./MD area so it was a welcome change). No trash spewing from dumpster. No cars broken into thank goodness (its a plus I can see and hear my car from my window, just in case). I enjoy a good house party but I haven't heard any noise from neighbors (I think they're all military). I have a year lease and I'll probably be staying but after looking at the Heritage it looked great (hopefully they don't raise their rent).
