As a resident of Westwood Apartments for a number of years, I believe I can give a true picture of the lifestyle of other tenants, neighbors, rent changes, and of the quality of the residents that live here at Westwood Apartments.
Years ago there were some residents that lived in some of the apartments that chose to live their own lifestyle, but in the last 8-10 years the quality of residents has equaled those of other quality apartment complexes. The residents speak to each other and walk the property with no fear of mesolation because of the quality residents and of lighted buildings that on the darkest night one can read the newspaper.
Of course, one must show themselves to be friendly in order to have friends, and apparently the residents who posted the ill fated reports do not posses that trait yet.
Water, gas, and trash were explained to me as being charged on an allocated formula for the past months. The hot air of the person states no increase from the gas company. Talk is cheap in our Land of the Free, however, a wise, honest person would have the facts before spouting off. Gas and water rates are going up in every city in our country.
My work orders are completed every time on a timely basis. None of my neighbors have any complaints.
The property manager handles matters fast. Most of the time she will bend over backwards to help where she can, other times when she cannot it is because she is held by a policy she cannot override, and always informs us residents.
The company uses one of the largest and best known pest control companies. The bug man and one more of the Maintenance Personnel come around to the apartments. My apartment is treated every three months by the pest control man s chemicals, the apartment s maintenance men test my smoke alarm, and they change my air filter. No roaches. No ants. Some of my friends were given spray cans if they saw an ant or whatever; I have never seen a spider in my apartment.
Pay your rent on time, no music from your car on property or that can be heard from your apartment, obey the pool rules, or you will be notified. We good residents want things quiet, clean, and reasonable rules like the above enforced. Sounds like the dishonest person writing the review was not doing what was within the perimeter of Westwood Apartments rules.
I was told we do not have assigned parking places at Westwood Apartments and all of my neighbors and I get along on our parking. I heard of a lady who wanted her two cars just in front of her door. Her neighbor went to move his car & then parked his neighbor s car in the spot. The lady flew out of her apartment and confronted her neighbor who was doing a kindly deed. Anyway, it ended up that the lady threw her cell phone at her kind neighbor invoking almost getting arrested.
Texarkana gets its water out of a shallow lake and in the summer the water is very warm out of the spicket.
I have gotten notices every time, a day in advance, when the water would be off, normally starting at 10:00 am until fixed. Several times water was off and it was the City of Wake Village that shut it off for the whole area without notice to anyone.
In our great community it s so hard to live with life s little problems!
I m guessing 15% of Westwood s residents are retirees from very professional jobs. I.e. school teachers a police officer, nurses, etc.
Maybe 10 have disability benefits, which means, 175 of us are hard workers that daily bring in a hard earned paycheck. Don t tell me we don t work. Many complainers don t work and are speaking for themselves.
My final comment is if the griper has so many complaints then go to heaven, I m sure he/she will find problems there also!
Live here at Westwood! You ll like the quality of the apartments and they have the most reasonable rates in town! I can t find any complex better! Smoke that in your pipe you grumpy resident!

Thank you for your detailed review of Westwood Apts. I was told as you stated that this complex is affordable,quiet, and a safe place to live. I am single Female,looking for a place that is affordable,safe,quiet and not far from my job, with good neighbors. Thanks again for your review.
