I've lived in ashby for one year, moving out, oh hell yes. Its kind of odd about the reviews for this place just because even if you think ashby is great, I cannot see how it could get a perfect score! i mean compared to places like Sunchase, Oldmill and Southview; ashby is not much to rave about.
I mean look at the answers you choose from for this review, you cannot say that ashby is "very quiet", this is known as the party complex, and you cant say that its a thing of beauty cuz the knickname for this place is "trashy Ashby"! I understand that you like ashby but you cant diss on other people because they dont, and i can see how it could possibly get a good score but not a great score no way.
Its not the safest apartment complex in town, half the time the lights outside aren't on, there are break-ins, people getting jumped. even if you think ashby is great you have to admit that on the weekends its just gross and out of control. you have drunk people everywhere, throwing up and trashing the place, you even have drunk people walking into your apartment, and yes i guess you can say that it isnt ashby's fault but they have done nothing to make this problem better . the weekends are like a "free for all," The staff isnt all that nice, usually you get attitude or hardly any respect. it isnt util someone's rich parents calls and complains that something gets done.
I have plenty of friends and have talked to plenty of other people who live in ashby and to be honest, none of them like it. i have had plenty of friends who have been mistreated by Ashby. Getting stuck with insane fees and fines that are really uncalled for. ashby conducts "inspections" where the staff will come in to make sure "everything is here" which isnt bad but usually they just walk right in with out knocking. one time my friend and his girlfriend were "in bed" and the ashby staff just walked in on them.
parking does suck, sometimes you cant find a spot, the first weeks are hell, but even if you do find a spot your car might not be there when you go back because even though you have a Ashby parking sticker on your car, it can get towed because the tow truck guys are too lazy to check the whole window on the back of your car, this year my car got towed, i had to pay 8 bucks for a cab ride cuz they wouldnt bring it back. also my friend got his car towed for the second time this year.
And im moving and along with one of my other friends who live in another part of ashby, we move out in 2 weeks and for some reason ashby is trying to do little repairs here are there, its a pain when your getting ready to move and they keep coming into your apartment and "to fix things", cant they wait two weeks!'
Let me just say this I hardly believe that anyone's life revolves around bringing ashby down, they're prolly like me found this website when they were looking for a new place and decided to write about their experience at ashby and most likely their experience will not be a good one, so if you're trying to waste your time fighting "all the bad people who want to ashby to burn" you're most likely going to be fighting for a long time, or until ashby cleans itself up.
