From the beginning till the end of my time at Chestnut Ridge, I enjoyed the apartment when I wasn't dealing with the office staff. On the day that I was scheduled to move in they didn't show up at the office. I moved all of my belongings to Harrisonburg only to find that I couldn't get into my apartment. I had to find storage which meant greater cost to me and the burden of finding a way of moving my belongings from the storage unit to the apartment on another day. To make up for this, the staff said they would pay for the first month of cable - this never happened. When we moved in, the apartment was a mess. It hadn't been cleaned well at all and it smelled like cat urine. I was informed that a maid would be sent to the apartment to take care of this problem - this never happened. Anytime there was a problem in the apartment, from misbilling or losing my check to not providing enough parking passes, I was met with conflict. The office manager never admitted to making mistakes and always skirted responsibility.
