I have lived in two different apartments in Chestnut Ridge. I lived in a 3 bedroom unit for 1 year and a 2 bedroom unit for 2 years. In the 3 bedroom all of the bedrooms are a decent size and the space was good. In the 2 bedroom the master is a good size but the 2nd bedroom was extremely small. But overall space is good.

While I lived in Chestnut Ridge I saw 2 Office Managers come and go. The first lady that was there when I first moved in was very rude. Melissa was her name. She always had an attitude and never seemed to get anything done that was asked of her when it cam to maintenance. Overall though her attitude was a stinker and I hated having to deal with her. The 2nd lady I did not get very aquainted with her, but she left soon after starting. Then the last lady Tina who is still there was great. She always returned phone calls as others did not and was nice. Not once had I sensed an attitude coming from her. She seemed calm under difficult situations as well.

2 complaints that will stick through out my entire 3 years there are ROACHES and Maintenance!!! The roaches were everywhere no matter what I did. Constantly cleaning, complaining to Chestnut Ridge office, them having people come and spray. They were always there never seemed to be gone. As for the maintenance, they guys were great. Very nice and easy going. Always answered any questions I had if I saw them. BUT, if I complained about something they did not respond fast enough. There were times when I needed something fixed and I had to keep calling over a months time to get them to finally come and fix what needed to be fixed. They never seemed to get things done in a timly manner of my call. You have to harrass them to even get them there.

While I lived in the 2 bedroom I had problems with my sliding screen door. They came and looked at it once and that was it. They didn't fix it nor replace it. No matter how many times I called about it it was just shrugged off. Never was fixed in my whole 2 years of leaving there.

When the aparmemt was showed to us (at the time we did not know about this) there was a hole covered up on the balcony with tape that matched the siding so you could barley see it. After we were moved in the 1 time that the maintenance guy came to look at my screen he tore the tape off and that was the 1st we saw the whole, we asked for it to be fixed he said call the office, we did and nothing. It was there the whole time. We had to cover it up ourselves with tape because of bees and wasps that kept going in and out of it.

Also as far as painting goes, I do not believe that they paint the apartments all to well. I could see writing that previous occupants wrote on the wall and random marks. This is with just a coat of paint over it.

Overall I would say its OK. I don't think I would reccommend someone that I know to live there. Its not worth the aggervation.

Parking was ok
Noise was a problem at times
Grounds were nice
Saftey never had a problem
Contruction CHEAP (you can hear everything)
Maintenance not very helpful as far as getting things fixed
Staff in the beginning a problem now ok

very true mananagement has always sucked but now she dont have the balls to make her own decissions when ever there is a problem. maintenance on the other hand since they got rid of one of the best supervisors. since i have lived here in the past 10 years is going to make the property go to crap that guy was great and could fix anything
