I've lived here for two years and the complex was recommended to me by someone who lived here for three. I do think the rent is somewhat high but no higher than the rest of Harrisonburg. Maintenance is prompt. The grounds are also well kept and I find the other residents friendly. No domestic dramas or discourtesy. No bugs. There's a modest pool for residents but I've never used it. I also have to admit that the tennis courts don't look to be in good shape. If such amenities are important to you, you'll probably find these disappointing.

The other possible downside is that depending on where you're located on Vine Street, you will find Harris Gardens, the apartment complex located behind some of Longview Oaks' buildings, very noisy. If you want peace and quiet, it's better to rent away from Harris Gardens.
