Let me first start by saying that this complex is primarily meant for college students, so if you arent one and dont like alot of noise at night it's probably not the place for you. I moved in here for my senior year at J.M.U. thinking it would be nice to have my dog with me.
The problems started from the beginning. When we moved in the apartment was in pretty poor condition. I understand that the building is 30 years old, but there were like 6 layers of peeling white paint on the walls, the carpet was not only stained but actually disintergrating and destroyed my vaccum, and the front door would barely open because it stuck so bad. All that I could have dealt with but the first floor toilet was actually FALLING throught the FLOOR when we moved in. It was leaning so hard that my roommate actually fell off of it when she got brave enough to use it. On the other side of the wall, the washing machine was also leaning precariously. We called to have this fixed the day we moved in. I moved out last week, it ws never fixed. We called at least 2 dozen times and every time the answer was, "we'll be there in a few days." Yeah right.
The ther ewas a power surge that killed my internet through the ethernet cord because of their faulty wiring. They didnt care.
Insect infestation, they didnt care.
Our mailbox broke, they actually fixed that....after a month.
The ladies at the leasing office are really nice, and so are the maintenance workers, but they never Do anything.
Oh, and last, but certainly not least. The entire year they wereing charging us $80.00 a month for water! None of us were even ther efor the first month when they charged us that much. They refused to show us how much water we used or how they could be charging us that much. After 7 months of us complaining they finally stopped charging us altogether but I don't think that would have happened if I hadn't refused to pay. My reccomendation STAY AWAY. Living here was a nightmare. I would gladly have paid the extra $100 a month again in southview (right up the hill)to have prompt maintenance service and no billing hassels.
