I've lived here for nearly 4 yrs now, and the only thing that's keeping me here now that Archstone has taken ownership is its location and the rate that I'm paying (which I've somehow miraculously been allowed to keep within about $50 for the past 2 yrs.

The maintenance staff is courteous and timely with their fixes, but it stops there. I've had numerous plumbing issues that still have yet to be resolved after 3 years, and the most recent issue definitely required a professional plumber and a good faith rent discount for the month - neither of which the community is willing to provide.

But don't take my word for it - go to Fairfax County's Consumer Protection Division website and you'll see that Archstone as a company has had numerous complaints lodged against them in this area, and most of them deal with lapses in maintenance or lack of response to urgent tenant issues. This particular community falls right into suit. Everything went seriously down the drain when the ownership changed hands last year.

As many others have said, parking is an absolute nightmare, and they've got no plans to do anything about it due to "all the paperwork and permits needed to begin work on more parking lots" (direct quote from the Manager). And if someone's in your spot and you need them moved' Well you'll get told to call the tow place yourself. Thanks a lot.

Save yourself the time and the money, and keep on walking past this community.
