Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon, but we have lived here for 2 months now and really enjoy it. The layout of our apartment is excellent. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe to walk - there are always people out walking. The pool is great. Location is incredibly convenient to the Fairfax Connector bus, Herndon-Monroe Park/Ride, and the clocktower shopping center. Easy access to 28 and 7100 is also a huge plus. Rent is reasonable for the quality of living! Our particular model has a stackable washer/dryer, but they are basically full size which is nice.

A few minor complaints - no microwave or digital oven, and the gate access key only swipes if you're like an inch away from the box. It would be nice to see some kind of clicker that can be kept inside the car to open the gate...pulling up, opening the window and stretching your upper body halfway out the window to wave the keycard is not ideal.

We've been here three months, and also enjoy it. But I agree with you about the microwave--one thing I don't like about the kitchen is that the stove hood is mounted high enough to have a microwave under it, but since there is none, it's almost too high for me to reach the fan (which is pretty useless) and the light. At least we have lots of counter space so I don't feel too bad taking some of it up with a microwave.

I bought a long piece of thin molding, sawed off about 15" of it, drilled a hole in the end and put a plain keyring through it, and then put the gate access card on the keyring. I keep the whole stick-thing in the driver's door pocket where it's handy--no more whacking the side mirror, or having to put the car in park and get out to swipe!
