Parking Fiasco

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
We lived there 13 months and the parking was a nightmare (unless you live by yourself). Parking for a second car was problematic from the get-go and only got worse. Parking on the street along the lake was banned in December and parking on Enterprise Dr. (a 1/4 mile walk to my apartment at the far end) was banned in June. To make matters worse there are no loading/unloading areas so you got to be quick or the predatory tow truck company they employ is going to haul you away. I was on a wait list for months for garage (monthly fee) when we decided to move because of the parking.
Noise can be an issue. Dulles (IAD) is literally across the highway, but the planes never bothered me. In one of the apartments around me there was a child that would go absolutely crazy two or three times a day. I swear her parents drilling her teeth out.
The grounds were always neat and tidy. The buildings aren't attractive but are well maintained.
The highlight of the complex is the maintenance crew. They were always quick, effective, and friendly. I would see them busy all day long.
The office staff was polite but I always felt like they couldn't care less.
Safety seems like it is good. The complex is gated (probably more hassle than it's worth) and well lit. My car and a neighbors were broken into at night last winter despite the gating.
The apartment we had seemed to be very efficient, especially in winter (south facing apt.).
