I am a single white female who has lived at Ashford Meadows for 18 months. I have always felt safe in a very diverse community. I have never had any problems with the staff in the rental office. They enforce their rules evenly. I do think the rules are strict (10% rent late fee, huge penalty if you move out early, etc) but you know about them up front and and chose to go somewhere else.
As for the apartments themselves, they are very nice with large windows. I face the back and so don't have road noise. There are apartments around with nicer construction (crown molding, name brand appliances), but they all charge more. The walls are thin and I can hear my neighbors frequently.
