Overall this place was not bad, but if you look around you can do better.

1.Parking- No permits and you could almost always find something close to your building.

2.Noise- Never heard much more than you would expect with normal apartment living, ie every now and then you hear your upstairs neighbors walking around or something but no big deal.

3.Grounds- Pretty good, there's a nice path behind the community too. Only problem is people never pick up after their dogs so watch your step!

4.Safety- Seemed ok to me.

5.Construction- We're starting to get into the areas that I had a problem with. Windows leaked. Things broke. Some stuff can be expected but maintenance was not the best...

6.Maintenance- The reason I would not live here again. Every time we had a problem it took multiple trips to get things fixed. The guys were nice enough, but they just didn't get the job done. Our dryer broke 6 months into the lease and they came out to fix it literally 5 times. When I moved out it still didn't work properly. Took 3 trips to fix the toilet. Never could fix the windows. Very very frustrating. It got to the point where we would just deal with having things that didn't work.

7.Office staff- The other reason I would not live here again. In person they were very nice. But I just don't think they cared about their jobs. One VERY annoying thing is that they have an answering service. So when you call the office, you can't talk to anyone. If you ask for a consultant, they take your number and you hope they call back. Most of the time you won't. You just have to keep calling and hope someone in the office picks up and not the answering service. Also, the answering service people didn't seem to be the brightest. When you call in a maintenance request, they'd say "Ashford Meadows ..." then when you give your address they'd say, "Is that Herndon'" Uhh, yeah, just like all of the apartments. Also the leasing office was not good about turning in maintenance requests. On the dryer problem referenced above, I had to call about 10 times to get them to show up those 5 times. I think half the time they just don't bother.

Overall, the apartments themselves aren't bad. They're pretty big, the location is ok and they're safe. Price is reasonable for the area. But you'll get very very frustrated while living there, so I had to get out. I'd recommend you keep looking.

Another major problem I just remembered was the mailman. I lived there for 1 year and our building was mixed up with other buildings at least 5 times. I always delivered the persons mail myself but I never got mine back. Who knows where it went. Numerous complaints never helped, I think there was even a petition going around about it. This is not Ashford Meadows fault but another annoyance of living there.
