I currently live in Ashford Meadows and hate it there. Our Air Conditioner (as well as our neighbors downstairs) is broken and the last two days have been about 90 degrees. This happened last summer, as well, when we moved in. Their response, you have to give it time to cool the place off (I waited a week and a half!). The list of issues with the apartment when I moved in is incredible and I think the only reason why I stayed is because I would have to pay a lease break. The women up front are terrible and obviously work there because they realize the get paid to do nothing. They look at you as if you are imposing on them when you try to get them to do anything, nevermind that is why we pay thousands of dollars to live there- for them to do their job!
The noise is horrendous at night. There are people out in the little garage areas talking loud enough for me to hear on the fourth floor at midnight or later with their toddlers.
Don't get me started on insulation, there was a draft in my apartment all winter long and our utility bills were crazy, even though we would have the heater turned off. Don't believe them when they say the average total for bills is around $150.
Oh there has also been a series of car break-ins this past year. Don't keep anything in your car. Luckily, I didn't have anything stolen, but a couple of my firends did.

I live there to.I hate this place to.My lease is up in a few month and i cant wait.My ac is also broken and you are absolutly right about the staff.I you rent here you will regret it.Put it this way GOD will not help you...you will hate it.

I notice that their apartment rating is the lowest of any around. I knnow it is the staff. The main office does not care,,they love their pit bull staff because they save them alot of money and headache by making the tenants so frustrated they just shut up and take it. I am prooud to say I stood up to them and told them they sold their reputation for $50....they lied to me and told me they would not cash my rent chefck until the following morning (I gave it to them a week early, as we were going out of town)....they promptly went and tried to cash it right after I lef the office, costing me $50 to go get a cashier's check. I am ordering a copy of my rental history and am getting armed with data to go to court against these guys and to repoort my findings to the ladnlord tenant dispute office in fairfax County as well. They need their license to rent revoked....they take advantage of people who are new in this country and know little about the alws or who are here on B1 visas and afraid they will get a bad record if they go to court or comlain. Have you noticed they keep tryingt to rent to foreign people? Some make good neighbors...others make it into a ghetto...which is why it is called ashford ghettoes by the realtors in the area. They actually refused to renew my lease...HA HA...it is a badge of honor. It measn I did not take their bull and they could not face having to deal with my holding them accountable. They are the perfect exxample of what is wrong with this nation.
