The A#1 complaint for anyone living at Dulles Greene has got to be the parking. If you have visitors, they have to park out on the street w/no security and some vandalism incidents, and then hike in about 1/2 mile (unless your building is right near the street). Don't invite the boss over for dinner! (or anyone else who's good opinion matters, really).

The rent's high, and they have no sense of humor about negotiating. If you're late (five days grace, which is generous, but...) you pay $100s extra, and never mind explaining that your best friend needed emergency surgery and the rent check wasn't top priority.

The units are big, and maintenance is pretty responsive. The pool is bigger than most around here but *cold.* The "gated community" is a joke - anyone can ghost in after a resident, and most of the pizza places within five miles know the entrance code. There's usually a wait in the exercise room for the elliptical, sometimes for a treadmill, and weights and exercise bikes are usually readily available.

I wouldn't recommend b/c I found the staff very inflexible, and policies (like guest parking) changed without warning to residents' disadvantage.

I would like to take a minute to respond to some of your comments regarding Dulles Greene. I am so happy to hear that you like your apartment and that maintenance has been good to you in the two years you have lived at Dulles Greene. I will pass that along to them as they really appreciate hearing positive feedback on their work. I hope you continue to stay with us far into the future. We have been responsive to complaints regarding our parking situation and finished building 30 additional spaces for the property in February 2006. Parking is tight all over Northern Virginia but we do try to accommodate everyone by offering additional guest passes at the office and with Dulles Greene Drive's off-site parking. As for your concerns regarding vandalism, I would encourage you and any future residents looking to lease at Dulles Greene to contact the non-emergency police number for a criminal statistics report on any community in the area. Compare several communities??? criminal statistics to see what, in your own opinion, is considered normal for the neighborhood. Crime occurs in every neighborhood, everywhere and we want all of our residents to make an informed choice when choosing a community to live in whether you choose Dulles Greene or any community in Northern Virginia. In response to your feedback regarding staff flexibility, I have to say we are very inflexible when it comes to the lease agreement all of our residents sign. Per Fair Housing laws we have to enforce the same rules and regulations for every resident across the board. If you encounter an apartment community that is "flexible," really you are dealing with a community that is unscrupulous and that is in violation of the laws that guide the ethical nature of our industry. We can provide any of our current residents with a copy of their lease agreement that explains in detail all of our policies, rules, and regulations and we would be happy to provide a future resident with a copy of our lease agreement to review ahead of time so noone is surprised after they move-in.
