While I love the apartment size and layout, I have had several ENORMOUS problems with management policies. First, my brand new car was towed despite having the apt complex sticker. (There was a mix up about the DMV registration sticker being from PA) The complex refused to help resolve the matter. Second, I got a job out of the area and had to break the lease unexpectedly. The complex was OUTRAGEOUS in terms of their demands: I could not give notice until I wrote them a check for the lease breakage fee (2 times my monthly rate plus pay back of all 'concessions'--I didn't even know I had concessions!) THEN I had to give them 60 days notice such that in affect I had to pay them 4 times my monthly rent plus about $900 for 'concessions' The people in the office were rather unapologetic about the situation, insisting that since it was 'in the lease' they couldn't make any changes. (I would argue that it depends on how you interpret the lease... I thought the lease breakage was 2 months rent (rather than 4 plus), which I had gotten my new company to agree to pay) IN ADDITION, they prorated the ONE day in August, August 1. As if they hadn't charged me enough already. Third, as I was leaving the office after giving them the final check, they told me I had to take the parking sticker off to turn in to the complex or else I would be charged yet MORE. My car is being picked up to be shipped to TX sometime btwn 8 - 5 today so I went ahead and took the sticker off while I still had the tools (they moved all of my stuff yesterday) Last night, I tried to park in visitor parking but it was full. SO THEY HAD MY CAR TOWED. Now, when I need to have it here ready to be picked up to ship to my next location, I have to figure out a way to get to the towing company and pay yet more money to pick up the car. I complained to the property manager that she had specifically told me I needed to take the sticker off but she said, there is nothing I can do. THE MANAGEMENT HERE REFUSES TO LOOK AT ANYTHING FROM A TENANT'S PERSPECTIVE AND ALMOST SEEMS TO GO OUT OF THE WAY TO MAKE THINGS DIFFICULT FOR YOU. DO NOT RENT HERE.

If you sign a lease without understanding it, how is that their problem?
