Whats the big deal'

I'm having a pretty good experience with DG. I'm not saying everyone else is exaggerating their horrible experiences, but being that I've recently left my college town this place is a HUGE step up from the quality of living I was previously used to.
I had David help me and my roommates out with the lease. We got a 3 bedroom next to the gravel access road. Theres trucks and construction sometimes but the noise isnt really noticeable since everyone in the apartment works during the day :P Parking isnt that big of deal, we have 3 cars total, only 2 passes, so one person parks on the gravel road right next to our building, literally 10 yards away. Those of us that do park inside the gate never have any problems getting a spot right in front, either. Only issue is I wish there was a pedestrian gate there so we dont have to walk all the way around or jump the fence when we park on the gravel road, but honestly its not that big of an issue.
I've probably had 3 complaints total about in-house issues. Two of them weren't life threatening so they were fixed within a couple of days. One recently our fridge broke down and we were leaking water and food was going to spoil. I told resident services the situation and then went to 7-11 to get ice to keep the food fresh, by the time I got back home, a repair guy was already fixing the fridge.
After living here for 6 months I can honestly say I haven't had any issue with the management or staff. The only time I've interacted with management was when we moved in. Other than that I say hi to them every month when we drop off our rent checks. Maybe I'm just lucky. The apt is great, walls have paint, carpet isnt stained, landscaping is phenomenal, theres AC and hot water, washer/dryer, security system (we even have cops living next door and across the lot), decent prices, pool/sauna/hot-tub, gym, basketball/tennis courts, business center (not great, but available)...
I guess what I'm trying to say is that we got a great deal, and even if this is my first apartment in the area, it is still a huge upgrade from previous living conditions. Try go living in a small town in southwest va, I can tell ya some horror stories about those places that would make this place seem like the Four Seasons.
I wont be living here after next february but only because my girlfriend got a job in vienna and we will be moving closer to her workplace. Otherwise I would never move out of this apartment.
BTW, I work in DC, its a 5 minute commute to the herndon-monroe park and ride, then a 15 minute bus ride to west falls church metro rail. It takes me about an hour to get to work, and all for only 7 dollars a day.

Sure you're right. Keep living in your fantasy world. Reality in Vienna is only "months" away. Not "worlds" away. That's a"BIG DEAL".

Did the leasing office put you up to this? With all the bad press on DG, they are desperate for some good postings...not gonna happen...
