GO ACROSS THE STREET TO ARCHSTONE - the service there is sucky but it is a MUCH safer, cleaner, nicer place. Better yet check out St. John's Wood in Reston......

No way!! The company behind this property is letting it go by bringing in terrible employees...look check out the new Camden place if you want to stay in herndon...I live there and it has been awesome! Do yourself a favor and save the headache!

Is the neighborhood safe? Is the complex pretty quiet? I'm in my mid-20's, so is there things to do around that area? Honestly, I'm not looking to be in heaven or in some 5 star apartment complex, but I definitely dont wanna be in the hood.

i like lionsgate...move-in specials are great! apts are large! prices are good! good mixture of ages...i'm 28 years old and live with my boyfriend and just moved in june 1st...there are a few bad things, but nothing major...1) if you want to bring a guest to the pool, you have to pay $5 per guest for a pass that can be used one time; 2) the dumpster (there's only 1) is usually totally full by sunday and garbage is overflowing from it..if your building is next to it, it would probably be a problem but if not, you will be fine! i have had no problems with my apt yet! and the area around the apt is nice..sidewalks and grass...and its close to the clock tower and there's a fun irish bar (though the only thing about it that's irish is it's name) and you could walk home from if you had to!

I just moved here with my family not long ago. We have a townhome here and have been happy with the place so far. I would recommend it. Positives: Nice pool, gym, and basketball court that are never too crowded. Staff is friendly. The area is safe (People are out walking their dogs after dark, so that's a good sign). Rent is great for the size of the units. We love the location. Everyone from the employees to the tenants have been very nice. Negatives: If you have a mechanical issue, maintenance is pleasant and responsive, but will try quick fixes numerous times before doing the best thing (This may be a problem anywhere you look). When there are alot of kids at the pool, the lifeguard we've seen on duty might as well not be there for safety or order. He seems amused at the various ways kids try to kill themselves.(This is not only a problem if you have little ones, but if you want to enjoy yourself at the pool. They get so crazy trying to hurt each other that you'll get nailed yourself. Don't count on their parents to stop them either.) There also seems to be a problem with loads of people who are not tenants using the tennis courts. It's an issue that has not been rectified as of yet. But all of the positives outweigh the negatives. You'll like it here.

I used to live there when they first built the place. My recommendation would be to find somewhere else. It's not "in the hood," but as someone else mentioned, there's only one dumpster for the entire complex, and it's always overflowing. Parking for guests is terrible, and it's shoddily built. We moved in when it was just finished, and before we moved out a couple of years later, the water heater pressure valve went and flooded the living room carpet.
