Good place with its drawbacks

I moved into a one bedroom apartment in July. The apartment was adequate, but I could easily smell what my neighbors were cooking or in some cases, smoking. I lived on the second of three floors and could easily hear the people above me walking, talking, etc. I would not recommend a 1br/ba apartment, although it was a good value for the area ($1270).
When I signed my lease, I ensured there was a military clause. Two months after living in my apartment I received orders to deploy to Iraq. After presenting my orders to the staff, they were very helpful in assisting me with moving out. I moved out of my apartment three weeks ago and my orders were changed and my deployment was cancelled. I just went back today and looked at a 2/2 townhouse with a garage ($1617/mo) and now I don't have to worry about hearing my neighbors above me. That's an amazing value for renting a townhouse considering the area.
The only drawback I have for Lionsgate is the secured entry. In the timeframe that I lived in Lionsgate and to this day, I've only seen the gate work for a short period of time (2 weeks). I don't know what the deal is, but I chose Lionsgate because it was gated. With the amount of money I payed and pay each month, I do expect the gate to be repaired, so that's my only quarrel.
Bottom line, pretty good place to live for young professionals and isn't in a shady area of Herndon (1.5 miles away).
