Living in an apartment vs your own residence has trade offs.

I like renting because the maintenance is someone else's chore. But by renting, I must live with others in very close proximity.

The Met is great compared to other complexes. The office staff is very helpful and very friendly. I pray that they stay on here!

I appreciate the garage and the locked outside doors. I feel very secure here and that was priority number one for me when looking at complexes.

My apartment is very modern with the layout and colors. It looks like a big city apartment with the modern lighting and black appliances. I don't have any issues with the apartment. The maintenance staff and porters keep everything very clean! I worried about the trash smelling; however, they do an excellent job!

The only two issues I have are:

1. guest parking. I was told before I arrived that guest parking would be ample since the garage was for the tenants. Now that I am here, I see that tenants use the guest parking. I asked where my guests should park if guest parking is full. The office told me that my guests would have to park on Fox Mill which is a busy street that the complex is on. This is not suitable for my guests who have small children and are coming to see me in the evening when it is dark. I still have not figured out what to do about this situation.

2. poor construction between floors. I can hear the man upstairs pee in the toliet. I can also hear a baby crying, alarm clock going off and the clothes washer. All of this I can deal with except that my neighbors keep doing their laundry sometime between 11:30pm and 2:30am. When the washer goes on spin, it sounds like a helicopter in my bedroom. It definitely wakes me up. I don't believe this complex has the noise rule (i.e. keep it down from 11pm to 6am) so my neighbors do their laundry at weird hours.

I definitely recommend this property as one for you to check out. My only two wishes are that they would enforce the parking and that they would institute quiet hours at night.
