Everything the other posters have said about noise is true. I don't hear much from the people living next to me, although I only have them on one side (I deliberately chose an apartment with a storage room on one side). But the noise from the people above me is ungodly. I hear literally every step they take.

The construction is very cheap, and some items were left unfinished. The kitchen cabinets hang at such an angle that I was afraid to put my dishes in them for fear they'd fall right off the wall.

The smoke detectors are WAY too sensitive. Mine goes off if I try to stirfry something. The first few times I used my oven, it went off each time due to some coating left on the oven during manufacture.

I've found management to be cooperative and on the ball, in general. I complained shortly after I moved in about both the washer and dryer, and they were replaced within a day or two. Since then, the dryer broke and they replaced it rather than making me wait to have it fixed. (The appliances are GE and supposedly high-end, but I'm not impressed with the quality.)

The maintenance guys don't always do the best job when they've actually got to fix something, though. I had to call them in three times to put the cover on a tub drain. It repeatedly came off, so I specifically told the office staff to write in the maintenance request that they should use caulk to make sure it stayed in place. When I came home, I found that the maintenance guy had used a ton of caulk to attach it--upside down! At that point, I just gave up.

I've had no problems whatsoever with bugs or spiders, which is a big selling point for me.

My lease is up in June, and I'll be moving out due to the noise and the rent increase--$50 a month! When I complained to the management office, they told me that they had increased rent $100 a month on some of the units. If you don't need all of the "amenities"--exercise room, clubhouse, pool, etc.--then you can get just as nice an apartment/condo or even a townhouse for less money.
