Well, where to begin' First, the "Townes Are Terrific" review is bogus. It was clearly written by either someone from the onsite staff, or corporate office. All 5?s' A perfect score' Please!! Who ever wrote that review has a vested interest and couldn?t possibly live here. My husband and I moved here in late summer of 2002. We were one of the first residents in what was promised to be a first rate, "luxury" townhouse community. What a joke! We have had nothing but continuous maintenance problems which the staff excuses as "new construction" issues. It shouldn?t matter what the cause or reason is, we still are expected to pay our exorbitant rent on time every month. The list of woes goes on and on to include: ill fitting windows and doors, leaking roof and plumbing, drafts, creaking floors, poor insulation,etc. etc. The staff never mentions the extremely loud hot water pump that?s located in a locked closet off the living room & dining room area. This monster runs constantly and is so loud it is impossible to enjoy a telephone conversation or TV show at a reasonable volume. After numerous complaints the staff shrugs and says there?s nothing that can be done about it- live with it. Maintenance excuses the freezing cold ground floor as being "normal" because it?s connected to the garage. Mmmmm. And this is the room they advertise as being an "office" area. Who can work in a refrigerator' Our gas & electric bills are ridiculous, and that?s with keeping the thermostat between 62-68 degrees and not using the gas FP. We also pay for water and were forced to pay a $300.00 "amenities" fee. Amenities' HA! The controlled access gates have never operated since we moved in. All in all we have been extremely frustrated and disappointed and cannot wait to move out. Please don?t repeat our sad mistake.
