I recently moved into the Townes at Herndon and I would say overall, it is worth every penny. I have lived in townhomes before and knew what to expect. Since the townhome is 3 levels, of course your electric bill is going to be higher because your heat/AC will have to run longer in order to reach all levels. To me, the quietness of the neighborhood is an added incentive to move here. After dealing with the hustle and bustle of D.C., it is nice to come home to piece and quiet! The townhomes are very spacious. For the amount of space you receive, you cannot beat paying under $1300 a month!!

I do agree with the other reviewer, Herndon is not a ?happening? town. You will have to drive 30 minutes to experience the nightclub life in D.C. If you work in the DC area, your commute to work will be 50 minutes to an hour using public transportation, but I was surprise that the commute really wasn?t bad.

Reading the other reviews, I feel very lucky that I have not experienced any squeaky floors or major management issues. My only concern is about possible rent hikes, since the property currently has good deals, but I will move if it is too outrageous.

I would still give the Townes at Herndon a 9 out of 10. They lose a point for charging an amenities fee, but not really providing amenities, and for the small garages. It is expected that any community is not going to be able to please everyone, but believe me, I looked at over 12 apartments in this price range from D.C. to Herndon, and no community even came close to the Townes at Herndon!
