Words cannot express how I can't wait to move from this place!

I agree whole heartedly about the attitudes of the leasing agents at just about all of the Archstone apartment complexes. Having lived at two Archstone properties (formerly at Springfield Station - expensive as all freaking get out and currently here at Archstone Worldgate, I have had my share (and fill) of lackadaisical leasing agents that work for Archstone. I had no idea that this particular property is a "formerly some other property". So basically, it is a ghetto property trying to become fabulous...but it is only ghetto fabulous if you ask me. Here at Archstone Worldgate, they close the information center/leasing office 10 minutes earlier than the time that is posted on the sign outside. So if some poor unlucky resident comes in after a long day of work (and apparently late day of work) trying to claim a package left by the mail man or some overnight carrier, I have actually witnessed residents being turned away and told to return on the next business day to pick up their package. Oh so what, they feel like they are being inconvenienced to walk their happy azzes back to the freaking room where they keep the unclaimed packages to give it to the rightful owner. It's a freaking trip man.

Most of the residents here are fortunate enough to be able to walk to work, since we are surrounded by several huge office buildings. So by the time they walk to their homes, get the notice that they have a package at the leasing office and run over there to pick it up, it might be too late, THAT day. And speaking of residents walking to work??good for you, but use the sidewalks you idiots! That??s what they are there for. I don??t think anyone driving in and out of there should be held liable if your dumb azz gets hit for walking in the middle of the dayum street when there are plenty of walkways and side walks for you to safely use.

When I think of Archstone/Charles E. Smith, I think of prestige. But when you are paying $1280.00 a month for a fairly modern apartment, the last thing I think about is a ROACH INFESTATION or noisy tenants from above and below. I am pleased to announce that I no longer have a roach problem...knock wood. But in order to go from, not wanting to enter my kitchen for fear of what would scurry away, to the normal state my kitchen is in now, it took a phone call to the Health Department, an investigation and a warning to the rental office to get them to treat the whole building as opposed to those that just got annoyed enough to ask to have their units treated. From what I understand, there is a certain nationality of people that don't believe in killing living things. And from what I know, it is the majority of the tenants that live at Archstone Worldgate. That's all good and all, but ROACHES ARE HIGHLY UNSANITARY people and in order to get them in your home, you have to live like a dayum pig...so if you don't want to kill them, CLEAN YOUR DAYUM APARTMENT MAN!!

I have had to call the police on my neighbors downstairs for loud music/tv surround system...so loud that it makes my floor vibrate!! So loud that the police had to bang on the door 3 times before someone answered the dayum door. (By the way, a noise complaint is any noise that is bothering you and it doesn??t matter what time of day it is according to the Town of Herndon police??I asked before I made my complaint.) I had to file a formal complaint in writing here at Archstone Worldgate, but at Springfield Station, I simply had to make a phone call and if the resident received more that 2 complaints, they would get a notice to vacate. People that live in apartments need to realize that they do not live in a Single Family Home/Detached house where they think they can be as loud as they want. Not so people...we live in a Multi-Family dwelling unit! Therefore, just because you have a flat panel tv mounted to your wall in your living room (some folks should really consider closing their blinds) with the matching surround sound doesn't mean you can pump up the volume to get that theatre quality effect you are looking for. If you want the effect of a movie like the ones played at the theater, carry your happy azzes across the street to the dayum movie theater then. They have 9 screens...TAKE YOUR FREAKIN' PICK!!!

Another thing that I really hate is the inconsistency from property to property. There should be a standard set of guidelines across the board. Springfield Station did live up to the prestige of the Archstone name and were the most responsive when it came to my requests and concerns. However, what's up with the lack of prompt trash removal from the trash dumps'' They charge us $5.00/month for trash removal...and you still see trash bags piled up on the side walk outside of the dumpster like we live in NYC or something!

I only moved here because my boyfriend and I broke up before the lease was up at Springfield Station and since neither one of us could afford to live there on our own income alone, and instead of paying 2 months rent to liquidate the lease, we were able to mutually transfer to another sister property and this was the only place with availability in my price range at the time. Man, I can go on and on...all I can say is that this experience has motivated me to become a homeowner (and I don't mean a freakin?? condo either) more than ever.

Here??s an idea for those that are so ready to move out, that they will do anything short of paying two months worth of rent to do so. Transfer to another Archstone property, even if you are in the middle of your current lease, it's apart of the relocation guarantee. Once you get your new lease, you will automatically start over at the beginning with a brand new lease. So therefore, you will get the same 30 day satisfaction guarantee that allows you to move out and get out of your lease without any penalties and no questions asked. Yes it is a hassle to move, but hey??you do what you gotta do. That might be a good idea for someone that is trying to buy a home and move out before their lease is up...just put your stuff in storage so you don??t have to move it from place to place.

Being the minority is not fun either. Some of my immediate neighbors I really HATE...yes HATE...with their inconsiderate azzes and some of my neighbors have been a real delight! Some of the men that congregate out in the parking lots can be very intimidating at times. You can hear their elevated conversations being spoken in their language...not sure what language it is, but it isn't English, Spanish or anything other language that is immediately recognizable.

Overall, I really don't like living here, but I hate the act of moving even more...I almost feel trapped. And having a small child makes it that much more difficult to move. And this place isn't very kid friendly. I guess it was supposed to be geared for the SINKS and the DINKS (Single Income No Kids or Dual Income No Kids), but single moms are renters too...would it kill you to fill in some of that swamp you call an animal reserve and put in a tot lot and a basket ball hoop''' There are plenty of children on the premises. My daughter is a toddler and has a lot of energy, so it's hard when I have to keep reminding her not to run, jump, or do any other seemingly disruptive physical activity for fear of alienating my down stairs neighbors. She's too young to understand, or care for that matter. And she shouldn't have to be stifled so much by me and the rules of living in a multi-family dwelling unit.

Oh and for those of you that are paying top dollar to live in one of Archstone's gated communities...stop kidding yourselves. You and I both know that at least 5 cars pile in behind your dumb azz as soon as you swipe your key card to open the gate. Still feel safe and secure' False!! But it sure makes the property look nice and expensive, doesn??t it' And half the time, the freakin' gate is broken...am I right' And it's more of an inconvenience when you have visitors coming to see you.

For what we pay in rent, they should really step it up around here and give the current residents 1) a reason to want to stay and 2) a reason to refer future residents.

As you can see, I can go on and on...
